Dueling Doctor Appointments

Monday was a big day at our house...Jensen and Marisa had dueling doctors appointments. Marisa had her 4 year shots and was a trooper especially after we explained that after these shots she would be ready to go to school and she wouldn't have any more shots for a long time. She still screamed in anticipation and we had to hold her down, but overall she did well especially since we were at the doc office for an hour for both kids. We read lots of books with her while we waited and she was very nervous and upset when the doctor took Jensen for his circumcision in the room next door. Luckily they were both screaming at the same time so she didn't hear him. I was happy I didn't have to hear him either (I think Josh felt the same way). Jensen did well and apparently only screamed when they gave him the shots of litocane and he was a trooper. After giving him lots of love they showed us how to diaper a boy (yeah, sadly enough we didn't know...all the boy stuff is new to me). We look forward to less pee on us from this point on. We also learned that Vaseline comes in tubes and thank heavens for that for the next 5 days as Jensen heals. We also got to celebrate Jensen just about making his birth weight..5lbs. 2oz. just a 1/2 oz. off now!!

My 30th birthday was spent loving up two kiddos who had their trauma for the week. Marisa lived it up and we rented Alvin and Chipmunks the Squeakel and let her have a Popsicle for being such a good patient. Jensen slept most of the afternoon which gave me a nice break and let me bake chocolate chip cookies and some congo squares (after cake 2 weekends in a row I needed a change). Josh had made me his special french toast for breakfast with bacon (my favorite side) and we had a great day that ended with tacos with friends and congo squares!
